מהגליל העליון לעמק החולה - Upper Galilee to Hula Valley

אחרי שינה באוהלים ביער פסטורלי בגליל העליון, הצפנו ולעבר הגבול הלבנוני וביקרנו באתר תל קדש שנמצא בין הקיבוצים יפתח ומלכיה. במקום זה שכנה העיר הקדש המוזכרת בתנ"ך ולצדה שרידים מרשימים של מקדש מהתקופה הרומית ובסמוך מספר סרקופגים (ארונות קבורה מאבן) מאותה תקופה. לאחר ביקור באתר המשכנו לנחל קדש היורד בתלילות מהגליל העליון אל עמק החולה, לאורך המסלול צועדים ויורדים בקניון ומדי פעם רואים את הנופים המרהיבים של עמק החולה, הגולן והחרמון. במסלול עברנו במצודת ישע שנבנתה ע"י הבריטים בשנות ה-30 ובה התנהלו קרבות קשים במלחמת העצמאות באפריל-מאי 1948. טיול שכולו נופים מרהיבים, פריחה מדהימה וירוק בעיניים, והרבה היסטוריה וסיפורים מרתקים. אין כמו הגליל באביב.

The Upper Galilee towers over the Hula Valley and that's exactly where we went in the beginning of April when everything is still green, and the spring blossom is amazing. After we camped in one of the forests of the region, we went to Tel Kadesh, an ancient city mentioned in the bible, where we saw the most impressive ruins in Israel of a temple from the Roman period, the next to it many sarcophagi (stone coffins). One of the most beautiful walking trails connecting the Upper Galilee is the Kadesh Canyon that descends 300 meters of altitude in a distance of 1 km, a very steep trail in which you walk in the narrow canyon with beautiful views of the Hula Valley, Golan Heights and Mount Hermon. On the way we passed through the Yesha fort, a fortified police post built in the 1930's by the British, where bitter fighting took place in the Israeli independence war in 1948. A trip with beautiful views, amazing spring flowers and a lot of interesting history. There's no place like the Galilee in springtime.
