Jerusalem & Tel Aviv with the Gilads
Two days with the Gilad family from Atlanta GA.
A long and exciting day (with a lot of stairs...) in Jerusalem - After a ride in the Jerusalem Light Rail, we started at the Jaffa Gate, walked on the promenade of the 500 years old Ottoman walls of the old city, visited the western wall, had a snack in the Jewish Quarter and through the old city bazaar we got to the Christian Quarter and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
After all that one must eat, and that's exactly what we did in the Mahane Yehuda Market. For dessert we visited the picturesque Nahlaot neighborhoods near the market.
In Tel Aviv we started the day in the old Jaffa port, walked through the alleys to the Jaffa Clock Tower and from there to the bustling flea market. We went on to the old American Colony, Neve Tzedek neighborhood, saw the place where Tel Aviv and the State of Israel were born and finally went to the old German colony of Sarona and its amazing food market.
Two intensive and fun days with great company
